This course is an advanced study in the field of missiology and its relationship to education, with a particular focus on religious schools. It enables students to develop a critical approach to the processes and understandings involved in developing such theology as it applies for schools or school systems.

Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate advanced understanding of the major movements shaping the context in which they work; 2. Evaluate contemporary models of education within the field of missiology and how and why they have evolved over time; 3. Critically analyse missiological categories applicable to the field of education; 4. Apply theological reasoning to the major elements of emerging understanding of missiology in religiously pluralistic educational settings.
Elements of theological reflection - culture, narrative and human experience; context in particular the impact of globalization, secularization and pluralization on society; critical studies in missiology; the use of scripture and tradition in missiological understandings.
