Advanced Renewable Energy Systems

10 Units

This course provides students with an overview of energy sources (both renewable and non-renewable), fuel properties, combustion, thermodynamics and energy efficiency analysis, power cycles, energy conversion systems, and environmental implications of energy systems. The course will establish an appreciation of topics such as power generation from fossil fuels, clean coal technologies, biomass energy, solar thermal power, wind power, geothermal power, and nuclear power.
