Managing Change

10 Units

The social, political, cultural, and business environment in which organisations operate is in constant change. Some changes are evolutionary, some revolutionary, but all require managers in organisations to feel capable to respond to change by properly aligning or realigning the organization. This capability is based on a thorough and realistic assessment of the circumstances in which change is occurring or desired. In this course, students will consider internal organizational and external impediments to change, and whether they can be managed or overcome. Often people in organisations are unsure of benefits of change, or are reluctant to change, and offer resistance. Students will gain critical competencies and skills required for all managers to effectively plan for and enact organizational change.
