The Master of Applied Finance program offered by the University of Newcastle is suitable for professionals looking to add a finance specialisation to their qualifications or employment experience. The program of study is focused on developing high-level analytical skills that are relevant across the finance sector, and can also be used to inform decision making across other areas of business. Master of Applied Finance students are armed with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to succeed in finance.

Through live projects in our city and beyond, you’ll develop design principles that emphasise social, economic and environmental sustainability. You’ll invest time in developing a deep understanding of each site you work on. You will be become a consultative problem solver, remaining engaged with our challenging future, learning how to develop human and purposeful architecture.

Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP)

The average course and programs costs listed on this page are the tuition costs for full fee paying students. Students with a graduate Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) pay a contribution towards the cost of their postgraduate education. The Australian Government pays the balance of the tuition costs.

Details of student contributions for CSP places are provided by the University of Newcastle Students Financials and Scholarships unit.

Graduate Certificate in Advanced Computing Technologies for Business

Technology is crucial to all areas of business, and professionals of all kinds must be aware of new computing technology developments. Managers in particular must be able to anticipate and adapt to rapid technological change in order to effectively understand the opportunities and risks their organisation and its customers face. 

The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Computing Technologies for Business is uniquely designed for business managers and professionals who work in technology-dominated environments. This postgraduate coursework degree focuses on new information technologies such as big data and cloud computing and makes them accessible to both IT and non-IT graduates.

Students will be trained to assess the benefits and risks advanced technologies bring to business environments in order to enhance their capacity for leadership and effective decision making. This degree is delivered through a combination of intensive on-campus teaching and online delivery. Each course is delivered over 3 weekends or pairs of consecutive weekdays and includes at total of 24 face-to-face hours of lectures, workshops, case studies and seminars.

From 2016, UON Sydney will offer professional development short courses designed to build your skillset and knowledge base, and assist you to take crucial steps forward in your career.

The courses will be drawn from a range of disciplines, and are aimed at complimenting the busy working life of the full time professional through scheduling that falls across weekends and night time sessions.

The collection at the Sydney Presence Library is curated for students studying at UON Sydney. Casual, coworking spaces were designed for students in order to promote collaboration and networking. There are also quiet study spaces available for times when you need to focus and reflect.

ELICOS

UON Sydney also offers preparatory programs in ELICOS. The Sydney Language Centre enables students from a variety of non-English speaking backgrounds to improve their English language skills in the heart of the Sydney CBD.
